Eklunds StreamLine series offers pre-engineered, cost-effective cab layouts with with a large choice of standard finishes for quick lead times.

Our Custom Cab solutions are designed and manufactured to specification, allowing architects to specify high-end materials like back-lit glass, custom stone, or intricate metal etchings for a truly unique building identity.

Can I see a 3D rendering of my elevator design before placing an order?

Yes. Our StreamLine Custom Cab Designer allows you to virtually build your interior, select finishes, and visualize the final product. You can print these renderings and specifications to assist with early-stage stakeholder approvals.

Our design team can also provide with a rendering of your bespoke custom cab design on your supplied brief.

What types of specialty finishes do you offer for high-end developments?

We work with a virtually limitless palette, including premium architectural metals, stone veneers, FSC-certified woods, and modern laminates. We also offer CabShield anti-microbial finishes for high-traffic healthcare or commercial environments.

Do you provide material samples for client presentations?

Absolutely. We understand the importance of tactile selection for architects and interior designers. You can request a sample kit through our sales team to ensure materials align with your lobby’s aesthetic.

How do I get a quote for a elevator cab renovation?

You can request a quote directly through our website or by emailing our sales team. Providing your current cab dimensions and a brief description of your desired aesthetic will allow us to provide an accurate estimate quickly.

How much does an elevator cab fitout cost?

The final cost depends on your design, shape, materials, finish, color and style.  Our configurable StreamLine range makes it possible to get a new elevator cab for as little as $12,000.  The cost for a bespoke elevator cab interior typically ranges from $20,000 to $60,000+ per cab, depending on the complexity of the design and the materials selected.

How do Eklunds’ interiors integrate with a building’s existing lobby design?

We have decades of experience designing and manufacturing elevator cabs for all types of projects. By collaborating with your design team, we can match elevator entrance cladding and interior cab finishes to your lobby’s specific metal or stone work, creating a seamless transition from the floor to the cab.

Are your design cabs compatible with all of the major elevator OEMs?

Absolutely. Eklunds’ interior solutions are engineered for compatibility with all major elevator Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) including Otis, KONE, Schindler,TK Elevator (TKE), Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitec, Hitachi and Hyundai.  We have spent over 40 years building collaborative relationships with the industry’s leading providers to ensure our fitouts meet their exact technical specifications while delivering a high-end, custom aesthetic enhancements.

Do you manufacture inhouse or outsource?

We do not outsource. All our elevator cab interiors are manufactured inhouse in our state-of-the-art facilities in Dallas and Baltimore. We fuse cutting-edge technology with hand-finished artistry, using only premium, enduring materials that surpass industry standards.

Eklunds performs a rigorous weight analysis for every project. We utilize lightweight honeycomb substrates and thin-set stone veneers to ensure the new interior stays within the capacity and counterbalancing limits set by the elevator manufacturer.

Can your interiors accommodate new two-way visual communication systems for the 2019/2022 ASME code?

Yes. We collaborate with elevator contractors to ensure our panels are pre-machined to house the latest video displays and emergency communication systems required by the updated safety codes.

What is the "panelized system" and why is it better for maintenance?

Eklunds utilizes a panelized system for our custom interiors. This means that if a single wall section is damaged, it can be removed and replaced individually without needing to overhaul the entire cab, significantly reducing long-term maintenance costs.

Do you provide engineering drawings for the installation?

Yes. Our in-house design engineering team provides detailed submittal drawings, including plan views, elevations, and material schedules, to ensure every stakeholder is aligned before manufacturing begins.

Who performs the installation of Eklunds cab interiors?

We use our close partner BCE Specialties to install our cabs with uncompromising precision. They are a certified Woman-Owned Enterprise (WBE) with licensed elevator mechanics, providing a single point of accountability for your project. They offer nationwide coverage for a streamlined, stress-free elevator cab installation.

How much downtime should a building expect for an elevator renovation?

Because we pre-fabricate our components off-site, on-site labor is streamlined to minimize tenant disruption.

Yes. Through BCE Specialties, we provide licensed and qualified installation crews across the country, serving major markets in both new construction and modernization sectors.

How early in a new construction project should I engage Eklunds?

We recommend engaging during the Design Development (DD) phase. This allows us to coordinate with the elevator consultant and architect on weight, clearances, and lead times.

Can Eklunds handle elevator entrance cladding and door refinishing?

Yes. We provide complete “front-of-house” solutions, including door cladding, transom work, and frame refinishing, to ensure the entire elevator bank matches your new interior design.
